Sitting in the 'sun room' of our home, although it is an overcast day, looking out at a white, snow covered ground. The numerous, crystal flakes falling when I sat down have now dwindled to a very few. A peaceful time, listening to James Taylor. Another beautiful day.

Christmas came and went, as did Leif and his family. A great tradition having them spend a few days with us at Christmas time, even though we are now only a short distance away.

Snow on the ground, cold outside, warm inside, tree up and decorated, presents still to wrap, listening to carols and old standards, fudge made, chocolate pretzels and peanut clusters to come - only three and half more days.

Flying home from AZ this afternoon to what may be the winter's first big storm (12" of snow predicted). When teaching all those years, tomorrow would be a 'snow day.' Now every day is a snow day.

Being retired and on vacation is about like chewing Doublemint gum.

Sitting in a waiting room, waiting. Time enough for how ever long it takes. No work to get back to.

Large window in study being replaced this afternoon; my job is to sit and wait for installers to do their thing. There was a time I would be doing it myself, but that time is gone.

Some sorting, rearranging, and cleaning of the garage yesterday afternoon. We still cannot get both cars in though. More work and downsizing to do! Today: misc. chores, etc..

It's been raining very lightly all day and there's a definite chill in the wind outside, so sitting on the warm side of the window looking out is a good place to be.

Looking at the leaves that remain, after a moist and gray weekend, the autumn colors once again explode in the warm and bright sunshine of a Monday morning. Thus the week begins.

You would think blogging daily would be easy for someone retired, but... you would be wrong.

Should I make a 'to do' list for today? Naa, let's just see what happens.

The novelty of nothing I have to do is becoming somewhat of a drag.

I have made it through a week of absolutely nothing on my calendar. How cool is that?
